Husband. Programmer. Tinkerer. goes live, and gets an "award"!

Sep 16, 2010

The mobile site for Eyewitness News has finally gone live! It’s been a long road getting to that state, but I can now sit back and watch the site being used.

There’s something satisfying about hearing an advertisement on the radio for a mobile site that you know you developed, and that people are using on a daily basis.

And the award?

And as for the “award”, it turns out that is’s site of the week (week ending 17 September 2010). Which is really nice. And to top it off? It scores an overall 5 on (as of right now - 04:43, anyways)!

It’s times like this that make me super stoked I was pushed into mobile development - I really do believe it is a large part of the future of internet in South Africa. But that’s a whole different kettle of fish, for another time and another blog post.

I wanna see!

If you want to see the mobile site, then point your mobile phone (or trusty mobile emulator) to You can view the Site of the Week entry on MobiThinking at, and the tests.
